Tehran is prepared to reinitiate nuclear discussions with Washington provided that it is handled with "respect" and "respect", Tehran's foreign minister has stated.

Abbas Araghchi declared exclusively dialogue was effective, and shared recent overtures had originated from intermediaries to reopen talks with the Trump administration. He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel within its borders that it will never give up" – the primary cause of the impasse in the earlier negotiations.

Prior Talks Abruptly Ended

The previous five rounds of negotiations between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and acrimonious end on 12 June when Israel, with US support, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a 12-day war that culminated with the American leader asserting the facilities had been obliterated. Subsequently, European countries exercised their privilege to restore global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a major impact.

Magic Solution Suggested

Iran's diplomats said they felt they had achieved a "ideal resolution" to the uranium processing matter in earlier negotiations, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with US participation could process nuclear material. The two nations would have been able to declare success since local refinement would have persisted and the US could be certain that Iran's nuclear programme was entirely non-military.

It had not been settled in the discussions that US nuclear scientists could work within Iranian territory, but that was a natural consequence of the partnership suggestion. Officials claimed on multiple occasions they had reached agreement with the US representative the US official only for the deal to fall apart due to "detractors in America".

Existing Situation

Every aspect of our defense have been rebuilt. We acquired multiple understandings from this war; we have come to know our internal vulnerabilities and the shortcomings of the adversary."

He continued: "We successfully passed this war. Our nuclear technology, which they intended to eliminate, remains in place. The facilities and gear, if eliminated, will be reconstructed; what is essential is the determination of the citizens of Tehran and then the unity of the country that they targeted, but failed to shatter. The nation of Iran have grown more resilient, more cohesive, and more supportive of the government and the nation in the face of this invasion."
